The ability to mod games like Fallout 3 and Skyrim is one of the biggest advantages toward longevity when compared to other, less modifiable RPGs. Fallout: New Vegas -- Bethesda’s most recent post-apocalyptic RPG -- is not an exception to this. With a multitude of mods available on NexusMods, it’s certainly not difficult to find oneself with 60+ mods adding anything from high-resolution textures to overhauls for major factions to new weapons. Today, we’re going to be showing how to completely overhaul Fallout: New Vegas into a harsh, unforgiving, immersive wasteland by using a compilation of graphics mods, content / quest mods, mechanics overhaul, and more. Welcome to 'Fallout: New Vegas - 2014.'
Luckily, Fallout: New Vegas is fairly easy to mod, but due to the large number of mods, this article will be split into six different sections: required mods, graphics, quests/content & mechanics, other mods, how to install Fallout: New Vegas mods, and tips/conclusion.
Note: This mod overhaul requires all the DLC for Fallout: NV along with the most recent update from Bethesda.
I have just bought Fallout New Vegas. I read the patch notes and I saw that many bug as been fixed after the release.
What I am wondering now is, if there are any known bugs and if there are mods I should install to fix them, before starting my adventure in New Vegas.

I don't think there are many mods that fix actual bugs in F:NV, but they fix many of the annoying things. Look at New Vegas Nexus for example for mods to install.
My main concern is the User Interface which is just horrible in every way (at least on PC). Increasing the amount of information that can be displayed at the same time does a lot.
Mods I have installed:
- There's also one that shows all health stats in one mouse over screen, but I can find it.
- I'm on my second play through so I installed some cheat to simplify hacking as well.
I'd suggest start playing as normal, and then install mods that help areas that annoy you.

So far I've not encountered any major bugs in New Vegas aside from 1 crash (touch wood) so I'd probably say don't bother with the mods. Chances are they will increase the risk of encountering issues anyway.

Surprised no one mentioned this. Similar to the Fallout 3 Unofficial Patch, there's one Mod called YUP (Yukichigai Unofficial Patch).
It supplies fixes to things that were meant to work in the vanilla game, but didn't. It's not new content, just a nice pile of fixes.

I came across this on PS3hax didnt see a tutorial on this site so i thought i would post this all credit goes to ps3hax.net.
The following tutorial will teach you on how to get Fallout New Vegas Mods on PS3.
To do this you need:
- A mod try Fallout New Vegas Nexus - New Vegas mods and community for a mod that suits you. I used debug megapistol ammo and stimpaks at Fallout New Vegas Nexus - New Vegas mods and community as i knew the location of the mod as it is Doc’s house.
- FALLOUT.INI from your backup of Fallout NV. You can get it to your PC via the useual ways.
1. Download your files to your pc
2. Rename the mod file something shorter for ease. I used dev1.esp
3. Open FALLOUT.INI and go to STestFile2= and enter the name of the mod e.g – STestFile2=dev1.esp
4. Search for sEssentialFileCacheListE= and go along and put ” DATA/DEV1.ESP,” behind one of the , already there.
5. Save FALLOUT.INI upload it back to your PS3 and put the mod file dev1.esp into your DATA folder for Fallout New Vegas.
6. If you had previously been playing Fallout New Vegas without restarting your PS3 then reload the game via OM / BM / GM
